After a few failed attempts at repainting a Monster High doll I got back into the spirit once I stumbled upon some MH Repaints on Youtube. After doing a bit of browsing for a doll I stumbled upon Gooliope Jellington and was left in awe! I have dreamed of owning a BJD Doll for ages and she comes very close to what I want. She has an absolutely adorable face mold which made me go out and buy her for a very low price. And when she arrived I was absolutely gobsmacked about how tall she really is! Unlike the average MH Doll Gooliope is 17 inches tall!
I should have taken some pictures beforehand but back then I wasn't sure about posting my progress so I only have a picture of her outside of the box and with her hair already cut off. (I did put a BJD wig on her so it wouldn't look awkward)
I love the hairstyle she has and I will try to recreate it but with a different color because I kind of don't like the colors she has now. I know, I could have just bought a different doll but honestly no other 17 inch MH Doll has her face mold and I really want to see what I can do with this particular doll. I have a loooot of ideas for her and all though I love her face the way it is there are a few things that bug me a bit about her (like color and factory paint that wasn't quite where it was supposed to be) and so I made a list of things I'm going to be doing with this doll:
- Remove Hair
- Remove Factory Paint
- Make a wig
- Give her some inset eyes
- Remove the droplets on her body
- Sow a dress
- Change Skin Color
- New Face-Up
Now this may seem like quite a chore but honestly I am up for the challenge! If you want to see more stay tuned because updates will follow!
Of course I also have to give a shout out to Dollightful on YouTube for inspiring me to repaint this doll. She does some amazing repaints and her videos show how she creates them!
